And so the final period made the difference. We saw an even game, but Finland got better as the game went on and after a 3-0 fourth period deserved the first victory.

Best players of the game are Kari Lohtander and Robin Sjörén. See you tomorrow! (21:28:38)

    48:00
    Game over.

    47:39
The fans might have seen another goal, this time the shot went wide.

    46:51
    Goal for Team Finland!
Now the game is over. Sweden tried to play without a goalie, but MARKUS JOKINEN took the puck in his zone and after four or five nice moves he shot it into the empty net. No assist.

    46:28
Huge opportunity, but the puck flew over Hovi's net!

    45:53
Emil Bejmo ran to the other side, Sasu Hovi was pretty sure with his save. Sweden full strength.

    45:12
Kruse was right by his post when Kim Strömberg took a shot. Very dangerous power-play.

    44:22
This is even worse for Sweden. Johan Erkgards gets called for interference.

    43:31
Now maybe Sweden is getting better and make a rush in front of Sasu Hovi's goal crease.

    42:21
As Tre Kronor looked to me pretty good in first three periods, now they aren't able to surprise the Finns.

    40:52
    Goal for Team Finland!
Sweden defense was pretty good, but now had to watch another fabulous action! KARI LOHTANDER changed the puck with Marko Virtala and then finished the hat-trick in a very easy way! Assist: Marko Virtala.

    39:10
Team Finland now completely controls the game, but one moment could change anything.

    37:17
    Goal for Team Finland!
Wow, what a great combination by Finland who takes the lead for the fourth time! KARI LOHTANDER redirected Markkanen's pass/shot very well behind Kruse! Assist: Sami Markkanen.

    36:01
    Start of 4th period.

    36:00
    3rd period finished.

    35:28
    Goal for Team Sweden!
Right before the end of the period we have a tie again! HENRIK HOGLUND targeted the corner really good. Assists: Mikael Eriksson, Carl Berglund.

    32:57
    Goal for Team Sweden!
But Sweden managed to capitalize on the power-play very fast. Kokkonen passed the puck to MIKAEL ERIKSSON, who tipped it realy great! Assists: Jesper Kokkonen, Nils Jonathan Johnsson.

    32:31
    Goal for Team Finland!
Even shorthanded, the Finns are ahead of two goals for the first time! Kruse, who is now in the net, didn't have a chance when MARKO VIRTALA took an accurate shot. Assist: Camilo Miettinen.

    32:11
Kim Strömberg (FIN) gets a minor for hooking.

    31:48
    Goal for Team Finland!
Finland grabbes the lead for the third time! SAMI MARKKANEN did it by himself, Ollikainen made a small mistake and let the puck go by his post. Assist: Markus Jokinen.

    30:02
Game is whistled down after a save by Sasu Hovi.

    29:27
The pace has slowed down a bit, Sweden wants more to score another goal.

    27:26
    Goal for Team Sweden!
Now the score is tied up! Eriksson passed the puck to EMIL BEJMO, who was very fast on the right side and then found a little space by the near post! Assist: Mikael Eriksson.

    26:41
Finland plays in full strength and now had also two great opportunities. But Ollikainen was perfect.

    25:58
Sweden will regret this moment. Now the attacking player stood in the goal crease.

    25:35
Carl Berglund missed the puck even he had an empty net! What a huge chance.

    24:52
Second power-play for Sweden. Tomi Penttinen (FIN) gets called for hooking.

    24:01
    Start of 3rd period.

I think Sweden was a bit better team in the second period. Actually, you can't say that when looking on the score. In my opinion this game will be even till the very end.

    24:00
    2nd period finished.

    23:14
    Goal for Team Finland!
Yes, it was a problem. Finnish power-play was fast and furious, KIM STRÖMBERG finished it with a huge slapshot and Ollikainen couldn't do anything! Assist: Mikko Pukka.

    22:29
This could be a problem for Tre Kronor. Robin Sjörén (SWE) gets called for tripping.

    22:04
Finland is playing at full strength. However, I like the Swedish play in last few minutes.

    21:15
Shot by well-known ice hockey player Dick Axelsson bounced just centimeters wide!

    20:29
Sweden had a long advantage, here comes the whistle and power-play. Janne Laakkonen (FIN) gets minor for hooking.

    18:40
Petri Partanen could punish a big mistake in the Swedish defense, but Ollikainen had the glove on its right place.

    16:46
    Goal for Team Sweden!
Sweden got the puck in the net, but the refs didn't concede the goal for the first time. After a consultation with the goal referee they did! ROBIN WALL makes it 1-1. Assist: Marcus Nilsson.

    16:03
But now Ollikainen couldn't control a wild puck and was very lucky that his teammates cleared it up.

    15:10
Looks to me like Sweden raised a bit, Hovi has to be patient.

    13:39
    Goal for Team Finland!
Very quick and surpising action by Team Finland and the first goal is finally here! KARI LOHTANDER ran into the Swedish defense and targeted the near corner – 1:0. No assist.

    13:20
However, Hovi now didn't see much and had to block the shot with his shoulder.

    12:59
Also this period starts in a very, very slow pace.

    12:01
    Start of 2nd period.

The spectators didn't see an interesting game in the first period, but as the time went on, maybe it was getting better. We still wait for the first goal.

    12:00
    1st period finished.

    11:51
Ollikainen smashed out a good shot with his helmet.

    11:35
Sweden still tries to do something, but no idea can surprise the Finnish defense.

    10:45
The refs now had to whistle after a long while, Robin Wall compelled Hovi to interrupt the game.

    09:50
Just individual moves could bring something interesting, like now by Erkgards. Hovi sent the puck out with his blocker.

    08:56
But Finland is slightly a better team, Ollikainen made a save on a shot by Ossi Pellinen.

    07:49
Finland couldn't capitalize from another breakaway, and so Sasu Hovi on the other side had to do his best!

    06:41
Sweden is at full strength, Ollikainen hadn't any save.

    06:03
Long combination, but still no shot from Team Finland.

    05:14
Here we go to the first power-play of the game. Johan Erkgards (SWE) – minor for roughing.

    04:47
Fast breakaway 3-on-2 for Finland. Mikko Pukka didn't find any space near the first post, Ollikainen was great.

    04:08
First shot by the Swedes in the game hits the post!

    03:11
After three minutes, Team Sweden gets the puck for the first time in the game.

    01:52
Now probably Markus Jokinen tried a shot from the left circle. I'm sorry if I make a mistake sometimes, but Finland has really "incredible" jerseys – blue number on blue jersey. Just great.

    00:48
Finnish players start with the puck on their sticks.

    00:01
    Game started.

Sweden, the silver medalist from Dresden 2013, is going to play Finland which had last year big problems with staying in Top Division. Suomi had to won their very last game against Slovenia which got relegated.
